A quieter week for Ross, sitting inside on the turbo trainer and in the gym following last weeks crash.
Last week ended, not as planned, with my arm in a sling - typical just as I was starting to feel some real fitness ad strength gains on the bike. In thinking about what happened all I can do is be really grateful for how unscathed I was from such a big crash - we expect maybe another week and I should be able to get back on the bike.....fingers crossed.
So what of this week, well I managed 4 sessions on the 'Turbo' with a sling on, and by the end of the week I was fine pushing normal interval numbers for power. Perhaps most importantly I was able to start my gym work, or at least ready the body for it. The last time I was in a gym was probably back in the days of climbing ropes and crash mats.... Coach has set me a very specific regime to build core and leg strength endurance, after two sessions I am wondering if i'll ever be able to walk again - but hey, I guess I don't need to be able to walk.....just pedal.
